IMTEC-RF Screen is an indirect solid phase enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) for the quantitative determination of IgG-, IgM- and IgA-class rheumatoid factors (RF) in human serum or plasma. The assay is intended for in vitro diagnostic use only as an aid in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Rheumatoid factors (RF) can belong to all classes of immunoglobulins. These antibodies are found in about 70-80% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). IgM-RF are increasingly found during long lasting disease duration and elderly patients, with a “bland” clinical course of RA.
