IMTEC-Jo-1-Antibodies is an indirect solid-phase enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) for the quantitative and qualitative measurement of IgG class autoantibodies against Jo-1 in human serum. The assay is intended for in vitro diagnostic use only as an aid in the diagnosis of polymyositis and dermatomyositis.

Anti-Jo-1 antibodies can be detected in 33% of patients with primary polymyositis and in 25% of cases with primary dermatomyositis. Antibodies directed against Jo-1 are considered as marker antibodies of a subset of a more severe course of idiopathic myositis with lung disease.
